Our Story
I’m Kat.
I’m a passionate climber in love with nature and the outdoors. Together with my family and our dog, Sully, I spend as much time as possible on the local trails and at the crag.
In 2019, I was diagnosed with a chondrosarcoma of the humerus, and told I might not ever climb again. There was immediate talk of removing the entire shoulder. This obviously devastated me. Thankfully, after much conversation, tears, and maybe just a little bit of pleading on my part, my doctor agreed to first attempt the removal of the sarcoma, allowing me to keep the bone.
After recovering physically and emotionally from the surgery and sitting through numerous followup scans, I was given the OK to start resuming my normal activities. This brought me back to climbing with a renewed enthusiasm, vigor and positive outlook on life.
I started The Climb Shop to help fill a need that I saw while on the wall, and to help give back to the community I love.
10% of all profits are donated to help keep the places we love clean, accessible and safe to enjoy.
